Let’s face it; probably every single individual out there has dreamed of owning their own small business at one point or another. While many of those individuals have gone on to start those small businesses, ten times as many never even considered actually trying it. Why is that?
Probably because many people think you have to have a great deal of money saved up in order to start a successful business. Actually, that could not be farther from the truth, and so many people are missing out on the joys of small business because of it. There are literally thousands of business ideas that would require little to no startup funding at all. Granted, having money to begin with is always good, but keep in mind, it is not always necessary.
For example, you may have always wanted to start your own handmade soap business. You can literally start with one batch of soap. Once you sell that batch, you have money to buy more materials. You can keep compounding your sales until you can afford to buy materials in bulk and expand your products to include everything you want to sell. You can apply this basic formula to almost anything you make.
Another great idea is to start your own virtual assisting business. There is no startup involved here, especially if you can build your own web site. You really only need a page where you can list your qualifications and contact information. If you have some extra funds, you can use it for advertising. While this is not necessary, it could bring in more potential clients quicker.
